There has to be a culture where students and parents know that if children come to school and act like that, they're going to be dealt with. I don't think we have that now.

There's a whole culture change involved here. It all hinges on contractual issues. It's all contingent on the unions and us resolving these issues and getting contracts.

The No Child Left Behind Act requires that school districts test a minimum of 95 percent of all students and they break it out by sub-group, including Hispanics, and we anticipate that it will be the Hispanic students who may be absent in the highest numbers on Monday.

The bus driver was shaken up but not injured. The remaining students were taken on to school and all parents were notified.

When they started school in the fall, they didn't have enough students.

We're concerned about children that reside in this area -- them getting connected with their parents after school.
