We'll go to the community engagement meetings. We're going to keep on fighting. We cannot let this go.

When you look at participants in study, it's not the parents. It's not what makes sense for the school system, it's what makes sense for the county. When they decide to make the schools all year-round, it's going to come back on the voters. This is what the voters asked for.

I think that, when you have what they're trying to create, they should work with you instead of against you. I think neighborhood schools should come first, and if you need to create diversity, you bring it in, you don't ship it out.

We've participated in about 65 community meetings over the last 15 months or so. We've done that for a number of reasons. One is, it's very clear to us that there was a lot of misinformation around about what this proposal was and what it wasn't.

We need the space badly for public meetings and community gatherings.

I am going to ask for more meetings with the Finance Committee, with the School Committee. I want more community problem-solving. I want to identify the iceberg before it hits.
